Meet Madeline Falk, LMFT
Supporting you to create the life you’ve imagined.
You don’t want someone to sit back and listen, you want someone to help you.
I’m not a TV therapist and I won’t just ask you “how does that make you feel?”
I’m Madeline Falk and I help people create and nurture deep and meaningful relationships. I know you want to feel more fulfilled and find more satisfaction in your life and your relationships. And let’s be honest, you might also be looking for more intimacy and more excitement in your life. I can help you determine what it would take to get you there and will walk with you on your journey.
I bring a lot of myself into the therapy room and show up authentically. You’ll probably get that through a bit of my sarcasm and humor as well as my honesty and directness. I know first hand the benefits therapy can offer as I’ve done it myself. You’ll often catch me saying something like “everyone could use a therapist, including your therapist.” I want to help you do the work to create the change you’re looking for and then send you on your way. One of my favorite parts of my work is seeing people get where they want to go so they don’t feel like they need me anymore.
What to Expect
Whether you’ve been to therapy before or this is your first time, we all have different approaches to the work. It’s important to me you don’t waste your time, your money or energy. For this reason, you can count on me to gently and honestly challenge you as you work to create the change you want for yourself and your relationship.
When working within a relationship, my goal is to move you back toward one another and out of disharmony with one another. We will look at your conflict patterns and ways of engaging in arguments that need to be shifted or changed. We will use your attachment style to help direct us in defining needs and work to rebuild intimacy and play within your relationship.
If we are working individually, I’ll support you in finding and confronting the negative narratives you have about yourself. I will challenge you to let go of the things that are not useful to you anymore. When you can’t find self-compassion and empathy I will hold it for you. We’ll explore what you want and need to feel satisfied with yourself and your life.
My guiding principles
Empathy
I work hard to fully understand you and what you need and create a safe space for you. I want to model that for you to give to yourself and your partner.
Accountability
Empathy and nurturing aren’t enough. I will offer challenges and value being accountable to ourselves and to our relationships. This is how we create real and meaningful change.
Truth
I work from a place of honesty and speak truth to what I see and I want you to do the same. I know how difficult and complicated life and relationships can be. And that doesn’t have to stop us from creating real change.
Empowerment
When I hold you accoutable, you can trust I’m going to also empower you to do something different. You have the capacity to make things in your life and your relationship different.
