Brainspotting

A mind-body approach to releasing trauma and distressing feelings and increasing self-discovery.

Brainspotting can help you to reprocess your trauma or stored memories. This reprocessing happens on a body level and will support you in reducing the intensity of symptoms from any trauma you may have experienced. When working with trauma we will discuss proper emotional regulation skills to support you outside of our sessions together.

Trauma

Anxiety

Similar to processing trauma, brainspotting can help reduce the intensity of symptoms of anxiety. I utilize this modality for both specific topics that are making clients anxious and a more general feeling of distress. This can be especially helpful if you’ve felt “stuck” with you anxiety for some time.

Attachment

Brainspotting can be used for managing attachment wounds to support you in your current relationship or the one you want. These wounds may be from your childhood such as your parents, from a previous partner or even your current partner. I often use this tool to support couples in moving forward together.

Brainspotting can help:

  • Process or reprocess past negative experiences, including traumatic ones

  • Calm anxiety, release tension and regulate emotions

  • Increase understanding of self

  • Increase connection with partner

  • Eliminate barriers to feeling well
